You know how nothing ever quite turns out like you expect it to? I go into almost every situation with an idea of exactly what everything should look like and play out. My aunt calls it the movie in her head. Trouble is, real life isn’t that simple. Things are messier. More visceral. But that’s not to say every unexpected outcome is inherently bad. For every time I’ve stayed up all night studying Microbiology only to barely pass the test, there are so many times someone come up to me with a kind word out of the blue that makes my whole day. It brings to mind Jeremiah 29:11, which reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” He’s letting me know it is okay that not everything is going to go according to “my plan”, you know why? Because His plan is better than anything we could ever dream of. One example of that is actually happening right now. Never could I have imagined how generous people would be in helping fund this trip. I can’t even express just how humbled and grateful I am that many of you have donated your money to help me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much! I can’t wait to share with you where God’s plan takes me over the coming months.
