It’s been awhile. WiFi is sparse in Africa. Bear with me.

Team Reckless in Karakol – we nicknamed Kara-cold because it was freezing.

We loved teaching English at Why School

Visiting markets around the world has become one of my new favorite things.

My friends from the south loved when Karakol dumped 8 inches of snow on us overnight. I was less than thrilled. I thought I was escaping the snow this year.

Tiina has helped me become more adventurous in my eating this year!

In Karakol, we had a house that we enjoyed hosting new friends for game nights!!

On our last night in Karakol I unknowingly dropped my phone in a snowbank. A few minutes later we tracked it down using Find My iPhone. These people were so kind to give up their evening in the freezing cold to translate & negotiate a bribe to get my phone back. What a WILD night.

Our hosts in Jalalabad. These ladies were rockstars and so on fire for God!

My first time teaching English without another native speaker. It was an experience.

Volleyball ministry! A cool story about this ministry in particular. A friend that I went to college with did missions a few years back in Osh, Kyrg. This city was around two hours away from where I was in Jalalabad. While my friend was in Osh she helped develop a volleyball ministry with some of the ladies I ended up working with. Essentially, the ministry I was partaking in was set up by my friend Jen & duplicated in a new city! Small world!

Sweet new friends

Thanksgiving back in Bishkek with team Reckless

We got to decorate the English center back in Bishkek for Christmas. My team blasted Christmas music & danced around the classroom for a few hours. Hannah & I were so proud of our tree of lights.

Even after we had already got new teams, my old team, Reckless, surprised me with an afternoon at the trampoline park. The best (early) surprise party EVER. Wow, I really love these girls and feel so blessed to have spent four months with them.

Please keep my team and squad in your prayers. We are currently in Kenya. Security threats are scary things but prayer is SO powerful.

That’s all for now. I’ll catch y’all up on Ethiopia & life here in Kenya shortly.
