Dear Friends,
Do you know how kind Jesus is? Have you ever experienced His kindness?
Jesus has been nothing but kind to me my whole life, but, lately, my whole heart crinkles and warms when I proclaim His kindness! I see it and receive it more than I have ever before. It overwhelms me to tears and rejoicing at the same time.
Two weeks ago, one of my best friends and her fiancé prayed for me as I feared God would forget about me in this HUGE call of obedience. I was scared and unsure if He would provide, so as we prayed Josh, my friend’s fiancé, kept referring to God as “daddy.” It was so refreshing for my soul to be reminded about God as my father and rejuvenating to remember that God as my father is a really kind guy.
So on the following Saturday, which was my first financial deadline, an hour before the day ended, a fellow supporter gave all of my first goal amount and more; I sobbed/screamed with joy and gratitude as I recognized how kind God and our father is!
Then, I had a random garage sale from friends’ donations and saw God’s kindness throughout the sale: peoples’ kind words, the donations, my mentor and her family’s help, the prayers, and the success of it…God was so kind in all the ways He took care of me!
Next, I had to travel to Kansas City to get my gear for the race and it was a difficult day. I was overwhelmed and unsure about all my decisions and struggled to hear Him; however, the next morning as I looked over my purchases I saw a yellow lily (my favorite flower) on a hair-tie attached to my new back pack! I immediately was overwhelmed with peace because God in His kindness chose intimacy with me and reminded me of who He was. I look at that lily attached to my pack and will leave it there throughout the race, so I can remember and declare God’s kindness daily.
Folks,
God is so kind. He loves you, knows you, and sees you. He is thoughtful, gentle, and intimate. He likes taking care of us in our chaos, doubt, fear, and stress.
He is with us and He is kind!
