Folks it is getting real…I leave for the World Race in 39 days!

Can you believe it?!

Who knew this was God’s plan for me five months ago. I never thought I would get here, and I never imagined God could be so BIG in taking care of everything!

He has provide over $9,000, gifted me with all my gear, raised up prayer partners, and made a way for me. I am continually amazed each day with the people God uses to bless me and their kindness. I love answering peoples questions and sharing about this journey. It truly is remarkable what God is calling me into!

Earlier this month I received my first destination assignment for Lima, Peru and that made everything even more exciting. I now know where I am going first and anticipate the work God will do there in me and through me. It is fun to ponder the adventure I will have and the lessons I will learn. I can’t quite imagine all God will do this upcoming year, but I know it will be good! And with that… I know it will also be very hard and most likely incredibly messy.

The idea of leaving my comfort zone filled with my friends, family, church, work, food, schedules, and belongings is quite frightening.

Who knows what is on the other side of abandonment and surrender…

God is asking me to rid myself of my control and fear: wading out into the deep, deep waters with Him where life, freedom, and struggle exist. It is a scary place.

I am not sure if I can handle it… I wonder if the wind and waters will overtake me; I wonder if I will trust Him out there? I ask Him if it will it be worth the risk and cost?

The disciples gave up much. They left home, said goodbye to family, were persecuted, put to death… and yet, they gained so much more. They learned to hear from the father because of the son, they learned to love one another because of the son, they learned to teach others because of the son, they learned to pray because of the son, they received eternity because of the son. Their journeying was worth it; their struggle was fruitful, for they gained ‘forever’ with Jesus! And, I look towards their testimony and find faith and affirmation in the journey I am leaving for in 39 days.

My own kingdom journey is coming and I know it will be worth it!

I do not know what the Lord wants to teach me, but I am certain I will learn a lot. Im sure it will be filled with grand adventure and quick to bring brokenness into my life. Im sure it will all get pretty messy. However, people will hear of Jesus for the first time, kids will get to be held and loved, churches will be built, prostitutes will discover hope, and lives will be saved because of what I said yes to and His radical love for His people.

Is it not all very exciting!?!

 39 days Folks!

“I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.  The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your[b] mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. [The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.][c] The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.”                                                                                           Psalm 145
