A couple of times a week we get to go Ayapan, a small village about 15 minutes away from where we live. While there, we go to the local school and teach and play with kids.

Today was the last day of school at Ayapan. I have mixed emotions about it but overall it was a sweet day. I wish we would had gotten to spend more time in Ayapan. I wish I had another opportunity to love and play with those sweet kids.

Each child that I got to love on showed me what true joy looks like. Most of the children probably don’t have a whole lot but whenever they saw us, their entire face lit up. It was like Christmas morning and they had just recieved all the presents they had asked for. Their smiles were some of the sweetest I have ever seen. All they really wanted to do is hold your hand, sit in your lap and play with you. They just want you to love on them.

Isn’t that how we are supposed to be with our Father? Aren’t our faces supposed to light up whenever we see how good the one who truly love us is to us? Don’t all we want is for someone to love us? Aren’t we supposed to find our true joy in the Creator and not in others?
