1. Christmas caroling. The first time we were really introduced to Bethel Assembly and the Raj family. Also, our first real experience with the culture, especially how late everyone stays up.
2. Christmas Eve service and Christmas day. Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I was really worried that I would be homesick during this time, but I wasn’t. Christmas Eve service went until 3 in the morning and I had so much fun. The next day we were welcomed into peoples home for lunch and dinner and I honestly felt like I was at home.
3. Going to Late Bayu, a waterfall, with the family for the day.
4. Going to a Hindu engagement party. We, along with church members, were asked to step in as the grooms family that day and it was so cool to be able to experience something like that.
5. Going to an Indian wedding reception. We dressed up in saris and danced in front of 500 people.
6. Pulling an all nighter with some of my favorite Indians and some how ending up on a random houseboat.
7. Pulling another all nighter on the beach in Penang with all the friends that I’ve made here in Malaysia.
There is so much more that has happened but I’m not sure that I could write in a blog. I’m heartbroken about leaving but IT’S TIME FOR AFRICA!
