It’s our last full week here in Sombor and I’m so glad for my experience here in this town where I can feel God is starting to move. When I first arrived in this town my teammates and I could tell that these people were looking for something that was more than your average church experience. Just some background, the people of this town and most of Eastern Europe distinguish them either as Catholics or Eastern Orthodox. Even in this small town there is that divide. There are 2 churches at each end of town that are Catholic and Orthodox. For me I had a feeling that no one is really experiencing God to the fullest. They are only experiencing what man can give them and that burdens my heart so badly. I have seen and felt God move in my life so much and I just want these people to experience ALL that God can do but most are not open to that idea. So on one of my prayers walks around Sombor I felt like I needed to pray for these people and be bold and pray inside the Orthodox church. But I wasn’t doing it with a loving heart and as usual God had a lesson He wanted to teach me. God lead me to:
“Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?””
??John? ?18:10-11? ?NIV??
This just shows that being bold in the face of what we perceive as wrong isn’t always the right thing to do. Be Bold but Love like Jesus would.
I have been God to boldly follow and chase after Him. But this lesson made me sit back and realize that God is still shaping me and making the man He has called me to be.
Much Love,
Mack
