Welcome to Sending Hope International located here in Wiang Pa Pao, Thailand!
This is where me and my team have been blessed to serve this month! I wasn’t real sure what to expect out of this month other than we were going to be working at a camp. When we arrived here at the camp we were greeted with a sign that said “Welcome” and all these beautiful little girls. The camp is beautiful and sits in the middle of the mountains here in the northwestern part of Thailand. They have tons of very tropical flowers and plants, also very well trimmed hedges that surround the property. Our accommodations are the nicest and closest to home that I have experienced on the race so far. We have A/C, yes I repeat WE HAVE A/C!!! Praise God! We also have beds, our own shower, with hot water and water that you can drink from the tap. We are definitely blessed this month and I am thanking God everyday I am here.
The girls, from my understanding, are orphans that all come from different families and situations. The girls age range from 8-18 and I have never felt so much love in my first day of ministry than I have from these 20 girls. They fed us, cleaned our dishes, had a worship night, had 2 dramas that they performed for us, gave us flowers and then gave us all hugs goodnight before bed. Yes, I may look tough or even act like it but these girls made me cry. I just felt this overwhelming spirit that they were truly excited to see us and by their actions displayed love to us. It will definitely be a hard goodbye from here at the end of the month.
For ministry we have breakfast at 7am sharp. Then from 9-11:30am we have activities such as games, bible study, songs and english classes. I bet you wouldn’t guess that I am a an english teacher but yes I am and I love it too! The girls are very smart and we are into advanced english already in the very first days of ministry! I’m excited to see how far we get into our studies.
The quote I will be constantly telling myself over and over this month is the one up in our living room. It says:
“To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world.”
Please also pray for my mother as she travels to see my here in Thailand at the end of the month! Thank you for your continued prayers!
Much Love,
Mack
