Hello out there! With less than 30 days until training camp and about 100 days until I launch, I thought I would share a little bit about Maci. Prepare yourselves!

Since I’ll be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months, here are 11 random facts about me:

  1. My favorite colors are green and purple
  2. I love to read!
  3. I named my car “Wanda the Honda”
  4. I’m rather accident-prone… two knee surgeries, several broken bones, one fake tooth, etc.
  5. I’m very passionate about the environment and conservation (aka tree-hugger)
  6. I’m the oldest of four children
  7. Over half of all of my friends are twins (or a triplet)
  8. Coffee is my lifeblood
  9. I have a slight obsession with Disney
  10. I love traveling and exploring new places
  11. I do not enjoy talking about myself. LOL

I would describe myself as quirky, semi-intelligent, and witty, but I’m typically more of a quiet, reserved person until you get to know me (then you’re in for it). I am a great listener and I like to observe rather than be in the spotlight. Sometimes people take my reservations as arrogance or conceit but it’s usually because I don’t have anything to say. I don’t like being vulnerable and thus am a relatively private person, keeping most things to myself (so sharing about myself on a blog on the Internet is definitely not my cup of tea!). I think most people that know me would describe me as goofy or generically as nice, both of which I think are true, but there aren’t many who know that I struggle with anxiety and self-doubt, amongst other things. Since being accepted onto the Race, I have been added into a GroupMe with the majority of my squad mates and it has been so uplifting; to have total strangers from all walks of life and all corners of the country come together and just be raw with our thoughts, feelings, and who we are and what we struggle with has me in awe of Him and what He has in store for us. I don’t normally share much but the fact that I already can with people I haven’t even met face-to-face yet is amazing! I can only imagine the friendships and bonds that will be formed on this journey.
