Picture this.
You’re running late for work, so you throw on your clothes and jump in your car. That’s a casual Monday for some people. Well, it’s not like that here. First of all you’re always late…. literally to everything. That’s just how the culture is in Swaziland. Next is, that most people don’t just jump in a car and go. Yes, there is local transportation called the “cumbi,” but most people just walk if it’s within a few miles. Swazis are tough men. They got snakes for breakfast, and wrestle crocodiles for fun- okay not really, but it paints a nice picture of their dedication. This week we gave out 10 pairs of shoes to some of the men in the community. We were invited into their homes, heard part of their story, and prayed for them. Shoes (and feet of course) are their main source of transportation, and most of them don’t have a great pair. Every time we handed over the the shiny box their smiles lit up the room. Meeting these men and empowering them in the leadership roles with their families was absolutely one of my favorite highlights in Africa.
*it was a great day to have a great day 😉
Love always,
