So apparently our World Race has started…because I’m sitting in a hostel in Antigua, Guatemala. Still hasn’t sunk in. It still feels like sometime soon I’m going to leave for a year of mission service. It in no way feels like it’s happening right now.
Actually, that’s a lie. The jet lag most definitely feels like it’s happening right now. Somehow The World Race has managed to jack up my internal clock, though I’m only two time zones away from my home in Florida. (But don’t forget to take into account flying cross-country, staying up for nearly 24 hours, followed by a few restless hours of sleeping on a plane.)
But we’re here! We’re really here! Woo woo! Which means, now that we’ve settled in and had lunch, it’s time for a nap. Excuse me, siesta.
In the meantime, check out some photos from the hostel where we’re staying for the next 5-6 days. (Our squad leaders say it’s pretty much far and away better than any other accommodations we’ll experience this year. So don’t think yours truly is going to be livin’ the good life everyday. We’ll get to roughin’ it soon enough. Just, uh…give us time to get oriented, and, uh, stuff.
Love you guys! And to the S-Squaders who are about to leave…we are all looking forward so, so much to seeing you guys. Seriously. We can’t wait to be all together again!!

Not to be outdone, Brooks serenaded us from the balcony

That’s it for now. Time for a little rest or possibly some exploration. Regardless…I’m really looking forward to seeing team lovebound in the next 2 days, along with the rest of S-Squad!!! Travel safe you guys!!
