Here are some photos of us working alongside Jose and his dad Walter.  Walter is the pastor of a local church, and we spent a couple of days last week helping them with some roofing construction work they needed to get done.  It's been really great to get to know both of them, especially Jose who speaks really good english, and is quickly becoming a real friend.

It's funny seeing the connections and relationships come to life that God has had planned since before time.  To think that He was waiting for the day Jose and I would meet…that He was looking forward to it with anticipation, knowing we'd benefit one another as brothers.  Makes me wonder (and really look forward to) everything else He's eagerly anticipating in the months ahead!

Sanding down rusted roofing frames…

Painting the frames a lovely shade of verde.  (For any Dora the Explorer fans out there, verde means green.  Okay, honestly, I've never watched Dora.  Nor do I really know anything about her, or the show.  My assumption from the pieces I've picked up here and there is that she tries to teach kids spanish.  So my assumption is that at some point she's tried to teach the word verde.  But I could be wrong.  It's happened before.  Twice actually.)

The life of a roofer…

Taking a breather.  (Subtitle: Paul looks like a scarecrow in that hat and shirt.  Don't worry.  He knows.)

Back to work getting these things onto the roof…Quick note: Yes these are photos of people working.  No,I'm not in them.  Now at this point I feel you have two choices.  You can jump to conclusions.  Or…you can not jump to conclusions.  With that said, I would also like to say that I am truly blessed by God who has surrounded me with people of wisdom.  ; )

Satisfied and worn out after a long day of not only working on building a roof…but working on building new friendships.  (Yeah…I didn't mean for that to come across as lame as it did.  My apologies.)  In all honesty though…after days like this, getting to know Jose and his dad…I really am finding myself more and more eager to meet the people God has waiting to introduce me to.
