[written 9.8.12] I’m posting now because of very limited internet access, and most likely will be posting multiple blogs at once in the future as well. I’ll do my best to keep up and to date them appropriately! Thanks for your patience and understanding!
It’s absolutely crazy that we’ll be on a plane going to Guatemala in about 12 hours. What an incredible journey the Lord has begun for me. Once again, I’ve been blown away by God’s presence and power here at launch in Chicago, and I love that this is only the beginning. I am SO PUMPED to see how God decides to lead my squad, my team, and me to do crazy things.
I’m learning more and more that I don’t have control over what happens, but when I let go of control, God’s much more awesome plan takes over.
And though I may not have control over what happens, I do have control over how I respond to each situation and emotion. At launch we’ve been talking a lot about choosing in. Choosing to acquire and nurture the ‘5 things we need for the Race’:
-positive attitude
-limited emotional baggage
-willingness to change
-Holy Spirit
-travel companions
The Lord is telling me again that love is a choice, and it’s more meaningful when the choice is more difficult. So I want to choose the Lord, choose to lay my life down for my brothers and sisters, choose to live in His plans for me rather than my own.
