Training Camp…. – The most exhausting yet exhilarating 10 days of my life. I honestly can’t fully explain with my words how incredible it was. I was stretched way out of my comfort zone and grew an incredible amount over those 10 days.
I must be honest though, to share the peace that God has given me. The first few days, I realized this adventure was a lot tougher than I thought it would be. There was a lot of hard work and things I wasn’t used to, such as sleeping in tents, cold bucket showers, new faces, and food I found unappetizing. To leave my comfort zone was hard and I didn’t like it at first. Throughout the next few days talking with the Lord about it & asking for peace. I was reminded over and over that I am called, this adventure that God has set out for me is just the beginning, & this journey isn’t for me. This journey is for the glory of God & His kingdom.
I then began to see the positive side of things. The rain was beating so peacefully against my tent as I slept, the cold bucket showers felt so refreshing in the Georgia heat, & I learned to be thankful I had food because I was hungry. My squad made it all worthwhile also! We built real and raw community and I’m so blessed with every one of these women. Every single soul has something different to bring and I’m excited to learn something from each of these Godly women. God is going to rock the world using us!!
“One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of Galilee, he saw two brothers- Peter and Andrew- throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and i’ll show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him.
Matthew 4:18-20
I know God is calling me to be like these fishermen- listen and obey what the Father is calling me to. I will get up, go out of my comfort zone, and be made a fisher of men. Jesus is calling us to be and do something so much greater than anything we want. He wants us to leave complacency. Training camp has challenged me to go outside the box by abandoning my traditional lifestyle, create space, and let God in because it’s not about me, it’s about the kingdom. Thank you to all the prayers and support for this adventure! I’m so excited to bring my heart and my lovely Jesus to Cambodia, Thailand, Malawi, and Guatemala!!
