You can just call me “Teacher Lynzie”. We have been working with New hope school. These children go to New hope to learn English. The school is not government funded so they work hard each year to get the support they need to give these kiddos an education.

I have two different classes that are on different levels. It’s been an experience making lesson plans for these classes and keeping them structured. I guess you could say we felt like we were thrown to the sharks. No worries though, we are all doing great.

My kids are taking weekly tests of the material that they learned during the week! I will say this month’s job has reminded me why I love interpreting and not being the teacher! Bless!

Side note: Hands down this is the best food i’ve had on the race. Our host cooks for us this month and they serve delicious meals each day. We always have fruit and we have at least 3 different meat options at each meal!!! YOLO!!!

I can’t believe it myself but I only have 5 days left of ministry. Who would have thought this day would ever come. I know for most people back home this year has felt like it has flown by. However, for me this has been one of the slowest/fastest years I’ve ever experienced.

So here I am in Cambodia, smack dab in the middle of a dream I asked the Lord to take me on over 3 years ago. I can’t believe I have had the opportunities of a lifetime and this month was another month marked with perseverance, love and laughter.

This month I really wanted to focus on living in a place of rejoicing each day. The first week here for me was just hard emotionally. There was a lot of feels happening since we are at the end of the race. After only a few days of reminding myself of truth and rejoicing I came to a joyful place and have really just had a lot of laughs this month!!

“Rejoice in the lord always. I’ll say it again rejoice: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:4-7

Last month takeaways:

  1. Always show up even when it’s hard.

  2. Go ahead and cry on your friends shoulders because you WILL miss them.

  3. Get “special drinks” every weekend. (ex: Dr. pepper, lattes that are more than a $1)

  4. Do your best even when you’re not that great at it! Give it your all because it honors God.

  5. Celebrate others well.

  6. Enjoy every last minute of your team.

  7. Let NOTHING kill your joy.

  8. Future racers, when your teammates are starting to make you a little cray..just laugh because you know what, it’s usually pretty funny!

  9. Try not to scream too loud at night when bugs are crawling on you and your freaking out because it’s pitch black in your room. S/O to Jodi and Esther who have been killing all the bugs since Montenegro.  (Listen, I don’t do bugs! Thank you LORD for teammates who love me enough to kill them for me.)
