Before every softball game, I would always choose three or four songs that got me “pumped up” to play. Today, the Holy Spirit wanted me to play a “pump up” song to get ready for ministry and that song is “Bless the Lord” by Will Reagan & United Pursuit.

“I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.” Matthew 11:10

It truly has been great watching God walk me through this journey and realizing the freedom I have in life with my Savior Jesus Christ. He makes me laugh because looking back two months ago; I shake my head and say “It’s all connecting now.

In Guatemala, my team kept calling the “prayer warrior” out of me. I have never really considered myself a prayer warrior before. I mean I prayed, but not to the consistency of how a prayer warrior would pray. In Nicaragua, I starting discovering a lot of deep stuff between me and my Father and to be honest, I was quite the novice when it came to this information. So, I started asking questions. Questions ranging from spiritual warfare to discernment to grieving the chains society placed over me without even realizing them. Towards the end of the month, my friend and teammate Sidney Ann recommended me reading “Becoming a Prayer Warrior” by Beth Alves to help me get more clarity to the questions I had. I started reading it once I was in Romania, and boy, could it not match up more perfectly with our ministry this month.

My team (Cypress) and I are working with a Hungarian pastor who has started his own ministry and church. His church is called “Assembly of Christ, The House of Restoration.” Zsomber Kovacs, (pronunciation in English: John Bore), is very passionate about uniting Romanians, Hungarians, and Gypsies alike in the Tirgu-Mures area of Romania and bringing them together in Christ. He rents out a room in a public building in the center of the city and holds church services every Saturday at 5. He even rents a private van to pick up some of the gypsies from the far villages to attend church.

During the week, the seven of us (my team and Zsomber) go into the villages and visit the families in their homes. There are four villages we focus on: Foi, Cornish, New Village and Cinta. We pray for them, give them words from the Bible, sing worship songs in English, they usually ask for prayers of healing, play with the gypsy kids, etc. Thursdays are our day off and on Sundays, we usually visit a local church.
One day during the week, Zsomber takes us in to the center of the city where we continue to pray for the people who live and work in the city. We walk to the University of Medicine and pray over the campus and the students.

As you can see from the rundown of our weekly schedule, our ministry is PRAYER. Really God?

Thank you! J

“For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

For the month of October in Romania God is teaching me how to become a prayer warrior. So, if any of you have any prayer requests, please let me know so I can put my learning to practice.

I’m not going to tell you about the book, but I will recommend it to any one of you who are feeling their prayer life is mundane and needs a change. Beth Alves gives very good insight to have a successful prayer life. She covers topics from the purpose of prayer, hearing from God, Spiritual Warfare and the weapons used and she even includes a guide to daily prayers. After reading this book, I have a better grasp of the knowledge of the Holy Spirit, my enemies who are out there trying to bring me down and recognizing the Christian walk is not an easy walk!

We fight from victory, not for it!

This month is a very chill, laid back month. The ministry is spiritually tiring and challenging for my team. We don’t “see” physical results, but I have come to understand it’s the spiritual results that matters the most. This month is only building my spiritual resume and helping me turn into the woman, daughter and warrior He created me to be.

This month will be a cornerstone to my next seven months of my World Race.

I want to end this blog with a verse I wrote as a note in my phone on May 30th. It was just the verse, so I decided to look it up. Here it is:

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21

Prophecy at its finest.

God’s got me. No worries.
