Since receiving my August launch date for the World Race, I have been a mixed bag of emotions. On any given day, I feel excited, nervous, anxious, and confident about this trip.

Excited because I will get to see and do things that other people can only dream about. Excited because each day will be different than the one before. Excited because I will get to minister to the lost, the hurting, and the lonely.

Nervous because there is so much to do before I leave. Nervous because if I don’t raise enough money, I will not be going. Nervous because I will be pushed far outside my comfort zone.

Anxious because of everything and everyone I will leave behind. Anxious because I will miss out on a year’s worth of birthdays, weddings, holidays, and probably even deaths. Anxious because I worry the lives of family and friends will move on without me.

More than anything else though, I feel confidant. Confidant that God has open this door as the next step in my life. Confidant that God will provide in even the most desperate of circumstances. Confident that I can trust the Holy Spirit to guide me in everything I do.

So, each day, I will continually remind myself of 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.”

I am thrilled to have you follow my journey on the World Race!

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. If you’d like to meet over coffee or lunch, I would love to share more of my story with you!
