Remember that time I went on a life changing adventure around the world? For 11 months I was privileged to be a small part of and get a small glimpse of what God is up to around the world. I got to do things like play with dirty little ones, name a baby, get to know and love prostitutes in the red light district of Thailand, paint a church, visit sick people in hospitals, speak and see people come to Christ in prisons, witness the radically transformed lives of men once stuck in addiction and violence, and so many more things. God allowed me to see and touch and get to know people all over the world who He dearly loves…the ones normally looked over and forgotten about, some even left to die.

It’s easy to look back on life at this time last year and long to be back in that place of traveling around and holding little hands, and loving on people who are perhaps rarely shown love; a lot of racers certainly experience those feelings. But God has me in such a sweet, sweet season right now and I’m so blessed to be exactly where I am. I can honestly say that my life has only gotten better since the race; more fulfilled, more full of Jesus than I ever thought possible. I’ve experienced the presence of God at CGA more tangibly in the past 6 months than I ever have. I’ve learned more about what it means to be a child of God and about the kind of Father that He is. I’ve seen and tasted His goodness, witnessed His provision, and been loved incredibly by Him and also through other people; right here in Gainesville, GA. I love how universal God is, how His love is in Africa, Asia, Europe, in the U.S. It’s kind of hard sometimes, being a stateside missionary, because it’s not as glamorous, you don’t have the stories or pictures of holding African babies. But God is working here just as much as He is in other nations around the world. He still speaks, still acts. He is still sovereign. And He is still in the business of redemption and restoration and loving people. We are just a small expression, a small piece of the puzzle of the global body of Christ that is being united all around the world. It’s a beautiful thing. All that to say, I blessed and thankful to be exactly where I’m at. Thank you for everyone who has been a part of, supported, and prayed for my journey around the world, and the journey God is taking me on here in Gainesville.

Awesome update: I’m going to Guatemala this Thursday!!! 7 of us will be going down to Lake Atitlan to do worship and intercession in the area where there is still a lot of odd stuff happening like idol worship and sacrifices on the mountains. Adventures in Missions is moving half of the Guatemala base to that area, so we are doing this to prepare for God to do awesome things there. We are all very excited to get to go out and see the wonder of God’s creation and love on His people and worship Him wherever we walk for that week. Please pray for our journey and for God to be glorified. If you would like to support me monetarily for this trip, that would be amazing and very much appreciated as well! I still need to raise $675. You can donate through this blog, just like for the race: on the left hand side of the page if you’re on your computer or scroll to the bottom of the page for smart phones. Click the link that says “support me at CGA.” Love you all!!!
