Alegria: Happiness, Joy.
Since month 4 on the race God has shown me my last name in the most RANDOM places. It’s become our thing and I’ve taken it as confirmation that I am exactly where I am suppose to be.
In China, Alegria was on our Nescafe cups. As you may remember.

In the Philippines, one of the most difficult months on the race for me to date, God showed me on the last day before leaving the country, a street, in the heart of Manila, named Alegria. With everything that happened that month, I knew I had been where God wanted me.
In India and Romania, it was on Nescafe cups too.

The entire month of Ukraine went by, not once I saw my last name until we made it to our final destination: Kiev. The city just happened to be advertising on large billboards the visiting show of Cirque du Soleil: “Alegria.”

In Honduras, at Zion’s Gate pulperia, a candy store, was an advertisement for the treats they were selling and written on it was “Alegria.”

Finally in Nicaragua, as my squad mates and I stood during out 45 minute bus ride to our month 10 ministry site, I prayed that God would give me my last name again as assurance that I was exactly where I was suppose to be. Less than 3 minutes later, as I curiously watched a man read his Nicaraguan newspaper, he flipped the page and in large green letters ALEGRIA was titling a story. I laughed out loud.
It’s been the assurance of heart I’ve needed to continue to endure on the race.
It’s that little thing He does to remind me I’m exactly where I’m suppose to be.
