We are wrapping it up here in the Ukraine. We are finishing out our 9th month here in Gasper, Ukraine working at a rest center for pastors and ministers. We have spent the majority of the month painting fences along with cleaning, kitchen duty, gardening, etc…anyway we can help. We have also spent a couple of hours in the evening time having a 1 hour adult English session and a 1 hour children’s English session. It has been interesting. The Ukrainian people are smart and catch on quickly.
The people here has provided us with a beautiful and comfortable place to stay for 4 weeks. It has been so restful and consistent. With less travel and more of a consistent everyday, we have had the opportunity to rest. I think, for some of us, it has also been a time of processing. Some of us have found ourselves processing more and more.

We have helped clean up around the place and have spent our Sundays participating in church services. The guys on our teams have preached, we’ve sang, we’ve given testimonies, stories, slideshows, ect…

I am finding myself processing more and more and attempting to figure out what has happened over this last year of my life. I am also finding myself trying to prepare myself for home. We arrive back into the states on November 21st. I go back home in about 6 weeks. I have been gone since January spending almost a year away from what I know as home. It is a crazy thing going back into something you know as home and yet you haven’t been there for a long time.
We have enjoyed Ukraine. It is beautiful here. Pastor Nikolai and his wife, Tonya along with Dennis are our contacts who have provided us with everything we have wanted or needed. Food, sightseeing, Russian : ) , transportation, tea time, adventure, internet, etc…they have been wonderful.

We leave Gasper to travel to Kiev on Tuesday afternoon, spend a day in Kiev on Wednesday (Happy Birthday to my teammate Catherine) and then Thursday travel to Romania, our 10th MONTH. Insanity.
We will be working with an American family who works with children in different ways in their home. We will be working at the Potter’s House. World Race teams have worked with this couple already and have so much good to say. We are pretty excited and also pretty stoked that we will be 15 minutes from Starbucks : ) It is another place that will be quite homey and familiar. Pray for us.
