I want you to meet our friend Aires. We made our way to Aires home yesterday while going throughout the community doing door to door evangelism. Aires has a restaurant out of her home (which is suffering) and we had the opportunity to return today and have lunch with her. Aires made us a marvelous dish which included potatoes, chapati, spinach, along with abichi and mchicha mix. The meal was delicious and the experience was humbling. It was such a unique experience, one which I will always remember.

Door to door evangelism seems to look differently everyday. Evangelism today took the form of encouragement. We went to three homes in a row where every family needed encouragement. Our purpose was to remind those people and ourselves that God is a protector as well as a comfoter. We spent time in each home, honestly, hoping to hear God speak to through us to these people as they mourned. We met two women today that had just recently lost their husbands and were seemingly making it by, to say the least.

What do you say to those women as they sit with tears streaming down their faces? What encouragment do we bring?

God’s word. Thankfully, God pours out comfort and peace on His people and that is the encouragement we bring. We talked about Paul and David a lot today and watched as God’s word brought encouragement. Praise God.

I am learning a lot about bolding preaching the good news as well as God being Hope. Because the reality is that I can do nothing for these women that is lasting but we serve a God who can.

I am hoping to bring more stories about our ministry here in Tanzania. We leave next Friday for Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and then head back to Nairobi, Kenya for a night. The next day continuing on to Uganda for a few rest days camping on the Nile and then head to ministry. Pray for our rejuvenation. God is good.

Love you guys, Lynds
