“The Devil’s singing over me an age
old song, that I am cursed and gone astray.  Singing the first verse so conveniently over me.  He’s forgotten the refrain: Jesus saves!â€

-Shane and Shane (Embracing Accusations)

In almost each country
that we’ve visited so far, the people have put a hug
e emphasis on being a “born
againâ€ Christian.  In the U.S. we

generally just say that we are Christians, and either assume th
at people know
that we are born again…or don’t think they would understand this “church
lingo.â€  However, this phrase is
absolutely vital to our faith.
Without being born again which includes dying to ourselves and being
reborn in Christ…our faith is pointless.

In the Philippines I met
a woman named Bing.  She was kind
of the caretaker of th
e hotel that we stayed in for the month.  One night we got into a discussion
about “born again Christiansâ€ vs. “Catholic Christiansâ€ in that country.  Although she wasn’t born again, she
still said, “Born again Christiansâ€ are the real Christians.  She was absolutely right.  Let’s begin to own that “born againâ€
part and be adamant about people knowing it and understanding why that is so
important to us!
