Wow! I can’t believe that I’m starting this new year of 2010
in New Zealand!! We have waited for, prayed for, fundraised, and stuffed all of
our belongings for the year into one backpack…and it has finally arrived.

As hard as it has been for me to leave all of my family,
friends, and comforts back in Texas, God has shown me how faithful He is
through it all.  Every step of the
way He has provided all that I need!
My main concern, and the reason that it took me 1.5 yrs to actually
apply for the World Race was raising support…and God has once again shown
Himself completely faithful!  I was
worried about leaving my family…BUT God has given me such a peace about
it.

On the Wednesday night before we left on Sunday, my Dad was
preaching about the promises that God has given us.  He asked the congregation to speak out loud some of the
things that have been promised in the Bible.   Ones that I have known and heard my entire life were
said: “God will never leave you.”
“God will never give you more than you can handle.”  As I embark upon this 11 month journey
I have been scared and nervous, BUT I know and was reminded that night that He
is never going to leave me and I am never going to have more on my plate than I
can handle.  Our Creator knows our
inner-most thoughts and fears…and He can quiet us with His love, hope, and
comfort.
