In the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking about our month in
the Philippines a lot! During that
month is when I was really wrestling with God about physical and spiritual
healing. Because I was dealing
with this, God made sure that I got more than my fair share of praying for
healing! Even my team chipped in, making sure that if there was someone who
needed prayer for healing that I was right in the middle of it. This was very difficult for me, but my
faith grew so much during this time.
One woman in particular that we prayed for had been sick for
about 7 months prior to us visiting her.
She was bed-ridden, very frail, and literally on her deathbed. This woman was obviously in need of
healing of the physical kind.
However, before we prayed for healing, Eryn asked her if she was a
believer. She said that she had
heard about it before, but didn’t really und
erstand it all.
One of the Filipino woman that was with us, shared the
gospel with her in her Native tongue and at the end of her explanation, the
sick woman accepted Christ. She
became a born again believer! We
then prayed for her physical healing, and left.
A few weeks later, one of the women that we had been working
with told us that the woman had passed away. I was very sad because I thought she had never received the
healing that we had prayed for.
Later on, it dawned on one of my teammates that of course she had
received healing! Maybe she did
not receive physical healing…but God had given her the ultimate healing, salvation! This woman felt no more pain and never had to worry about
another thing because she was in the presence of the “great physician Himself.
