(please note this blog was written about halfway through my time in India, however due to wi-fi it is just being posted now)

Well here we are, it’s been about 3 weeks since landing in India and it’s nothing like my expectations. Our ministry takes place in a town that is closer to south east Asia then India. We are surrounded by mountains here and we walk up hill pretty much everywhere we go. There have been few times in my life where I have been surrounded by as much beauty as there is here. As some of you know it is all squad month which means that our whole squad is together (it also means that you can get ample information about our ministry by visiting and reading some of my team/squad mates blogs who are better with words than I. Just click on the “meet my squad” link on the left side of the page!). The ministry here is truly inspiring, in a country that averages 5-7% Christian this area is 75% Christian thanks to this ministry.

Day to day life looks different everyday, we wake up between 5:30 and 6am because the sun rises and sets so early. We start everyday with amazing chi and a lovely breakfast made by our hosts, then we participate in a variety of ministry including construction of new church buildings or a dorm for the seminary here in town, painting at the k-12 school that’s run by the ministry, leading some worship and sometimes giving testimonies in chapel, praying over patients at the medical camps in the surrounding villages (fave!), and folding gauze at the hospital which is also run by the ministry. We are in a dorm where we are 2-3 to a room and we sleep on our sleeping bags on the floor (see pictures below).

Some of my favorite things here are the kids that yell “hello!” When we walk past and sometimes run after us with flowers, the great people we have gotten to know, praying over people at the medical camps, and team time (I might be biased but my team is the best, go read their blogs and you might agree with me).

To say month one has been crazy weird is an understatement, the adjustments to life on the race are still setting in and the reality of this adventure has finally hit me and it’s amazing.  I’m still fundraising! To keep me on the field I need about $2,200 more, to donate hit the “support me” link at the top of the screen!

Thank you all, much love  – Lyndie
