Que Pasa subscribers? I have been without wifi for the majority of the month in Nicaragua. I was planning to post two separate blogs with pictures from Honduras and Nicaragua, but instead I will wait until I have a better wifi connection in Costa Rica. Our squad of twenty-six is living on a farm/Adventures in Mission’s base here in Nicaragua and ministry has been filled with a variety of types and a variety of locations.
As we arrived on the farm our hosts informed our squad that the theme for the month was sharpening our spiritual disciplines. Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays start with a 5:00 am prayer time lasting an hour, leading into an hour of diving into God’s Word. Thursdays, Saturday’s and Sundays start at 6:00 a.m and we have our Tuesdays as our Sabbath. After group breakfast our squad’s mornings and afternoons are filled with multiple types of ministry. The first type of ministry is prayer walks around the local community surrounding the farm, with the help of translators who also work on the farm. We also work on the farm. Our squad cleared nearly a football field’s worth of plantain trees with machetes and shovels to make room for the new lemon trees being planted (that was awesome). The farm is open to the surrounding locals to play kickball, and soccer so there is usually a large amount of people at the farm during the day. Before these scheduled games we share a message with both teams and sports ministry has been mi favorito so far. Plus watching some of these guys play is impressive. Finally, our squad has been diving into a book study on spiritual sonship. The farm is beautiful and I am excited to share pictures in the near future.
My team, Team Half & Half, was given the privilege of traveling two hours away from the base to Ciudad Dario. One of the long-term missionaries, Nathan, who also works for Adventures in Missions on the farm led our trip in assisting a woman named Tara and the ministry she oversees, Light and Salt Ministries. We had the privilege of assisting her after school bible program for boys, ranging in ages seven to thirteen. Days there consisted of sharing our testimonies, encouraging the boys, a scavenger hunt around the town and an awesome field day. My favorite day however, was our outreach day around the community of Ciudad Dario with the boys. The boys and us were split into two different groups where we visited some of the boys homes where we encouraged their families, prayed for healing, and prayed for health and protection for their homes. Seeing these young boys pray and worship was truly an honor.
Our squad will be traveling to Costa Rica on Friday and I look forward to sharing pictures from the past two months as soon as possible.
The next fundraising goal that I need to meet is at the end of April. I will need to be fully funded at $18,200 by then. Please consider partnering with me by donating $50 per month for the next three months to help reach my goal.
