Qué Pasa subscribers? Week two has been great! Ministry is in full swing and we have worked with both His Hands for Honduras and Compassion International this week. Ministry consists of singing songs, skits, coloring, playing rock-paper-scissors, reading Bible stories in Spanish and playing the over under hand slap game. Saturday was the best dìa de semana. Our team assisted in adult ministry with His Hands for Honduras. This included a sermon from Pastor Julio, worship, fellowship, and coloring with fellow Honduran believers that ranged from 70 to 90 years of age. Pastor Julio, a former Colonel in the Honduran military, gave a sermon on the New Year and loving one another. The highlight of his sermon was that in the room there were two generations of people, from two different nationalities, that love the same God. This is an awesome reminder that the Kingdom of God is here, and that all the nations will be represented in Heaven.

Our team is doing great and we all appreciate your prayers and intersessions.

Recently, in my walk with my heavenly Father, I have been interested in and wanting to be a part of healings. I want to be actively healing the sick, raising the dead, and seeing the earth as it is in Heaven. The Father has also been showing me how naïve and young I am in my faith. I have been walking with Jesus for almost three years now and I don’t need to try and outrun Him. One of my favorite worship songs is “Not in a Hurry” by Will Reagan:

Lord I don’t want to rush on ahead
In my own strength
When You’re right here
I’m not in a hurry
When it comes to Your spirit
When it comes to Your presence
When it comes to Your voice
I’m learning to listen
Just to rest in Your nearness
I’m starting to notice
You are speaking

These lyrics sum up where I am with wanting to obtain more spiritual gifts. Recently Jesus has emphasized that it is just that-a walk-I don’t need to try and outrun Him. The Lord has been highlighting that before Jesus even started his ministry his Father announced that he was pleased with him in Mark 1:11. Before Jesus healed anyone or performed a single miracle, his father was pleased with him because He was the beloved Son.

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul tells us as the Church to eagerly strive for the greater gifts. However, in the next chapter, he tells us that if he speaks in tongues as angels, has the ability to understand all the mysteries and all knowledge, or has faith that could move a mountain but does not have love, he is nothing. Love is what unlocks the Kingdom of God. Love is the most powerful gift of God. Love is what I have been given by the Father, so I will share His love with the people I come in contact with.

Finally in Matthew 7:7-9, Jesus tells us to ask and it will be given, knock and the door will be opened, seek and you will find. For everyone who asks receives and for everyone who seeks finds. So that is what I will continue to do, ask the Father for opportunities to pray for people’s minds, emotions, and identities to be transformed into the image of His son, just as mine has been transformed. Healing is not just the blind eyes being opened, or the lame being able to walk, but his children’s minds be renewed in His son.
