Bienvienidos to my third and final blog de Honduras! My team leaves San Pedro Sula tomorrow and is traveling to Nicaragua over the next several days! This past week has been my favorite week here in Honduras.
Jesus, his Father, and his spirit are awesome. Nothing compares to their glory, their presence, and their power. On Monday of this past week a boy named Enrique who regularly attends our feeding program His Hands for Honduras was healed by our God. Since birth Enrique’s eye has not been straight and lags to the side. My team knows how bad I want to be apart of healings so sharing with them that I wanted to pray for this boy was no shock for them. After expressing interest to Enrique’s brother, our host’s son Joshue who also works at the feeding program, and our squad leader Taylor, planned to go to Enrique’s house to ask his parents permission if we could pray for healing for their son. However, the end of the day came and Joshue left early to run an errand leaving Taylor and myself wondering what to do. After asking the Lord what to do Taylor decided we should wait and asked Enrique’s brother if we could come to their house mañana.
In Ephesians 3:20 the Holy Spirit told Paul to write to the church in Ephesus something along these lines ‘Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.’
That is exactly what my God did. However in this situation the Lord did not require us to lay hands on Enrique or to pray over him, the Lord simply healed his eye over night. He returned to our feeding program the next day with his eye completely straight! Praise God! Hallelujah! The Lord wants all of us to seek him, and he waits in anticipation to reveal his glory to each of us, in a different way, maybe every single time.
Finally this past week the Lord has taught me the value of generosity and opening your home to people. Our host’s son Joshue told me in the car that I would always be welcome in Honduras, which meant a lot to me, we’ve grown close over these past weeks and saying goodbye will be bittersweet. Before I left for the race the Lord informed me that I would not need an extra set of guitar strings, so I trusted him and obeyed. On Thursday one of my guitar strings broke, so I told the Lord I trust you, and I know you stand behind your word. And that’s exactly what He did. I asked Pastor Gregorio if he had any extra strings, and he gives me an entire set. Praise the Lord!
I will be posting another blog with pictures from the past month on Monday! Thank you for your intercession, prayers, and for your resources!
