Gabby.
In a blue chair next to a pink and white house, Gabby was the one who asked me to explain my favorite color.
And I had looked into her green eyes and didn’t know what to say.
Because you see most girls pick pink or purple, fun and playful,
Even maybe yellow or orange or even red, something bright and happy,
And yet I sat there and told her what the essence of my color is because I’m not most girls.
See depending on how you view it, its every color all at once or the absense of them all,
Everything and nothing at the same time.
So its just one of those colors that matches everything, fits in everywhere.
It can be put on the red carpet or in the jungles of Africa.
And it just has this elegance to it that is almost mysterious and yet also straight up.
It always hides the flaws on it, absorbs them almost and makes them its own.
And the power is portrays, enhancing everything around it, intense.
And that’s when Gabby with the green eyes looked at me and said,
“Just like you.”
And so I guess, I’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker color.
