Hi! My name is Lydia and I’m eighteen. Here’s a little bit about me!! I have lived in Boone, North Carolina since I was seven, but Croatia will always be home. My parents were missionaries for eleven years with Cru and have truly given me my love for other parts of the world. I am the oldest of three… my brother Logan is fifteen, and my sister Ella is thirteen.

Ever since my years growing up on the mission field, I have wanted to go back overseas. My parents instilled in me my heart for other cultures and missions from a young age. I originally heard about World Race from my mom. When I first heard about World Race Gap Year, I couldn’t believe it. It sounded almost too good to be true. I imagined traveling the world to beautiful, exotic cities around the globe. I didn’t realize until later the reasons why the Lord has called me to this journey.

The biggest turning point in my life was at summer camp with my church last year. On the first day the speaker asked: “do you know Jesus in a way that has transformed your life, or as a lifestyle you have conformed to?” That whole week made me realize what it truly meant to live my life for Jesus. Christ’s love compels me to live an unashamed life. The Christian life is more than just avoiding sin, we are called to live transformed so that we may understand His plan for our lives! My worth comes from the work Jesus did for me on the cross, and I am able to live and be free in who I am because of it. The difference between knowing and believing that my validation is found in Christ really impacted me. Genuinely encountering Jesus that week lead to big changes in my life. I am privileged that by His goodness, I have the opportunity to help fulfill Jesus’s purpose on earth. I am so thankful that for nine months I get to carry out His purpose in the beautiful countries of Swaziland, Lesotho, India, Nepal and Nicaragua and Guatemala. I am so blessed with this opportunity and hope that you will prayerfully consider joining me financially and in prayer!!

Much love, Lydia
