A perspective change that I have gained on the Race is that people in all these countries are actually living, breathing beautiful people with faces and souls that Jesus loves! I know that sounds a little strange and possibly naive, but before I came I obviously knew there were people who lived in these countries, but now I have seen the faces and know some of these beautiful people. It completely changes your perspective when the country changes from a colored shape on map to experiencing the country, people and culture that is made and loved by God. This perspective change greatly expands my view of the world, how big God is, how small I am and the greatness of the Lord’s love.
This month we have been able to hike to the top off a hill where an electric tower is located and pray over the city. It looks over Los Guidos where we are doing ministry this month. The city is one of the most poor and dangerous cities in Costa Rica but it is incredible to look out over and cry out to God for the city. After seeing people and the community it is such a pleasure to ask my Father to reveal Himself to them. It also produces a love and desire for the things of God as well as to see His heart for the nations. This has sparked my heart to pray mor intently over each city that I am in whether internationally or in the States. There is a new unity with the Lord and a heart for the things His heart loves and breaks for that is gained from praying over your city. What would happen if we all started praying for our cities? Go to a high place that over looks a place in your city and pray. The Lord will reveal new things about His heart. He won’t only start to work in the lives in your city but also work in your heart. Seek out the Lord for your brothers and sisters in your city that they will come to know their true identity and who their Maker has truly made them to be. It will change you.
