As their young vibrant faces looked back at us at in the night, my heart ached to say goodbye. After two hours, it felt like days. I wanted to stay the month like every other month has been, but this month is different and we needed to move on.

We found this new family of believers in Esteli which is an area in Northern Nicaragua. After meeting with Pastor Israel and his family, we knew this was supposed be. Their desire for Jesus and for their city to know who this amazing God is, was evident. The youth of their church run most of the schedule and outreach, but we were told that although they want to do outreach to children they don’t have any knowlege or skills in that area. That caught our hearts. The youth are so genuine and passionate to share their faith, yet they have no resources for children’s ministry.

A night later, we spent time hanging out and teaching them skits, songs and how to present Bible stories. The youth consists of about 10-12 teenagers who love Jesus with such passion. While talking about English, music, Leeland and school they started to become like little siblings. Everything in me wanted to stay and finish out the month doing VBS, street ministry, worshipping and building relationships with these sweet people. Even though I didn’t have the opportunity to spend a long time with them, future teams will have the privilege of gaining new family in Esteli, Nicaragua.
