My December deadline has been surpassed by hundreds of dollars.
I love the cold, I love snow. I love rainy days. Instead of making me depressed, they usually put me in a great mood. But I've learned to develop a deep appreciation for the sun. The sun brings light, life, beauty and warmth. I love the cold and the rain, but when it's sunny, I soak it up.
Right now I'm soaking up life as well. I love challenge, I love adventure, I love change and being stretched and uncomfortable, just like life will be in 27 days. But these next weeks are about enjoying all that is good in life. Since my deadline has been met, my to-do list grows smaller every day and my backpack is mostly packed, all that's left is to cherish the last few days in the home I will likely never live in again. Christmastime, a closet full of clothes, the gym, family, memories, time to myself. And the beach.
So yesterday I gathered up my dog, myself and my little point and shoot camera and drove to my beach to soak up the sun. Life is beautiful, God is good and even if I see every place in the world, the boardwalk will always be my favorite.
Buddy kept sticking his nose in the picture.
But he was very reluctant to pose for the camera…
These are called Anticipation and Gratification.
There's a great blue herron somewhere in here.
Happy, worn out dog.
P.S. I would love to have my next deadline of $11,000 taken care of by the time I leave on January 10th, so if have been thinking of donating, don't delay!
