So I have a couple things to share with you all! I won't appologize for not writing for a while, because wouldn't you rather have one big really exciting update than several small only somewhat exciting updates?
First of all I have way surpassed my first deadline of $3500! I currently have $4179 raised, which means I have about a sixth of what I need for my second deadline in January!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, to everyone who has contributed so far! I have been so amazed by God's slow and steady provision for me! He is using you in mighty ways!
(If you would like to contribute, so that I can BRING THE GOOD NEWS TO THE NATIONS, just check out my last blog about fundraising!)
Secondly, this Sunday is the start of training camp, and I am actually at the airport now, on my way to Georgia, to attend a media seminar that AIM is hosting. I will be meeting some of my squadmates today and the rest on Sunday!
Getting ready for training has been pretty crazy! This past week I have been working a lot and also my sister, brother-in-law and their five children have been staying at my house, so most of my free time has been spent being an auntie to my wonderful nieces and nephews. My sister and her family have begun full time ministry by traveling to different churches and putting on musical programs to raise support in order to become faculty at Southland Bible Institute. (Check out their facebook page! The Regans in the Race) Some how between selling fruit, entertaining five energetic children and shopping for last minute necessities, I was able to pack, pretty succesfully if I may say so, all of my things into my backpack that will one day be my home for a year.
I've heard a lot of vague things about training camp and what it entails, mostly that it will be life changing, world rocking and nothing like what I have been expecting. And honestly, I haven't even had much time to develop too many expecations. I am just excited to be challenged and stretched and prepared for this ridiculous thing I'm going to be doing next year.
For those of you who are would like some specific things to pray for, there are plenty!
There are several people on my squad who have still not yet met the deadlline for training camp and they only have 2 days left to do so! Pray that the funds will be supplied! Please pray also that we would be unified at training camp and that we will be divided into to teams that will most effectively be able to spread the gospel and to help each other to grow. Also pray for all of the leaders, who will be running camp and preparing us for launch, that they will have God's wisdom and guidance. Pray for the countries and people we will be impacting next year. And lastly also please pray for me, that God would continue to change me and to prepare me for this, as well as that he would supply all of the money needed!
Thank you all so much for your continued support. You are the reason I am going and the means by which I am going!
