This month I got to serve alongside Kids International Ministries (KIM) In Tacloban, Philippians. They are a ministry that is focused on serving the abandoned kids, orphans and families in the areas around Tacloban. They do this by “showing” them the gospel in the community. So our team go to come along KIM and do a whole handful of new, challenging, and fun skills.
One thing that we jumped into was digging a large hole for a water purification system next to the church.

Another thing we got to do was cut down and strip 20 something bamboo trees with machetes and pure strength.

Another thing we got to do was build a Sunday school classroom for the New Life Baptist Church.

We also got to prepare and serve feedings twice daily to local villages.

We loved our opportunities to do recreation and just play with the children.

We got to do gardening and weeding almost every day and became pros at trimming bushes.

We also got to share bible stories to the children in the community.

We also got to help with VBS.

It was such a blessing to be able to work with KIM this month. To see the drive that they have to serve their community was very motivating. I have loved getting to see the smiling faces, the feeling of embracing hugs, the comforting words, and the pure joy that they carry.
