The race has finally changed locations for our team. As fun and exciting as India was, smearing putty and paint on walls, Nepal is a little more exciting. I would also write a blog about India’s experience but it was pretty routine and you know pretty much everything up to this point. We finished debrief recently, which was a blast but Nepal is so exciting I’m pretty sure I’ve already spent more money in the first week and a half here than I did in the entire month of India. There are a few reasons for that but India as a whole was a nice slow start to the race and good for preparation. The Lord showed us patience and worked hard on our team and we are definitely in a better spot than we were in the first week.

Nepal is absolutely stunning. I knew it would most likely be the highlight of my trip coming into this, but not even my love for mountains and Colorado could have prepared me for the amazing beauty the God has created here. On top of that, my team’s ministry host is a Sherpa and a lot of our ministry involves day hikes into valleys and villages to help those in need. Just in the first three days we visited an Old Womens’ home and a Lepers’ colony. We were able to help out and pray and listen to their inspiring stories and steadfast faith and love for the Lord. People who have next to nothing and have been outcast and rejected by their families rely solely on the Lord amidst a vast Hindu and Buddhist population. It certainly makes one reconsider, re-evaluate, and certainly appreciate their situation in life.

As of right now we’ve done 4 prayer walks, visited lepers, the disabled in the women’s home, orphans from the street, gone to church, visited slums and helped feed 300 street kids, and visited the Gentle Heart Foundation that shelters trafficked women and children. I’ve seen so much and experienced God’s true work here in Nepal where these people are so full of the spirit. I am leaving to do village and trekking ministry and will most likely be without internet for the next 10 days or so but this upcoming experience will be my first with real intentional evangelism and I’m stoked. I’m sorry for the lack of detail in this blog but I started writing it over a week ago and I’m really losting for the sake of posting and letting people know the basics of my experience in Nepal so far. My next blog will be about Christianity and what I heard in church and I’m actually really excited to write it so stay tuned. Also thank you Elijah and Katie for these last two photos.
