Why am I going on the world race? It’s simple, I have a passion for Jesus and people. The world race is giving me this opportunity to do what I love, spread the love of Jesus to people who may have never heard his name and travel. Spending 9 months in different countries with complete strangers who love the same thing I do, who would say no to that!
The people that I am going with are also the reason I am going, making new friendships, spreading the love of God with these new friends. Once Luke Troyanek said it changed his life I knew this was my calling.
Spending 8 days in Lima, Peru for a mission trip with my church showed me that, with everything going on in my life, nothing, NOTHING, could compare to what I saw down there. I complain about not having some food on the table every night. They barely get enough food to last for one day. When I put myself in their shoes not having food for a few days, it blew my mind, and my entire vision changed. THIS is what I want to do the rest of my life.
For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “ ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
Acts 13:47
