So if you know me then you probably know that I procrastinate and take forever to do things. This blog is no different, the details of Training Camp, and how it changed my life/view on life.
A recap would take too long so i’m going to give you the most important life changing details.
Miracles
So i’ve heard and read about miracles, most people believed them to be completely fake, I was in the same boat as them until a man named Deon came to speak to us all. He started by calling out to anyone that had a migraine and a girl named Christine from our squad was the first to raise her hand and Deon called her up onto the stage. He started by asking some questions about how much pain she was in, a six out of ten. He then prayed over her and asked the most important question, “Do you feel any pain?” She said NO!! Miracles are something that I know are real now, because later at the night session he asked if anyone had any pain to raise their hands, I raised my hand because I have been having knee pain for a very long time. The guys that i’ll be spending NINE whole months with came and prayed over me and slowly as they prayed the knee pain went AWAY! God is good people! He will take away all pain if you just simply pray to him a sincere prayer. There were people all over the room getting healed from headaches disappearing to hard pain going away. GOD IS GOOD!
Cultures
While at training camp we had many experiences with different cultures. The cultures ranged from not being able to use your left hand to eating with just your hands. I received just a little bit of culture shock but it prepared me for the MAJOR culture shock that i’ll receive when traveling to South Africa, Ecuador, and Cambodia. The clothing some cultures have when eating required women’s head to be covered when eating. This is the part where we get to the Black Egg shown in the title, you heard correctly, a black egg. It is called the thousand year egg, it is an egg, that is black, and smells like rotten fish… You might be wondering what this would taste like, i’ll tell you from experience that it doesn’t taste like anything! It has the texture of rubber but when you take a breath after eating it you realize your mistake. The rotten fish smell when breathing is enough to take even Dwayne the Rock Johnson down. Another thing that was given to us when they gave us the black egg was cooked crickets and rainbow rice. The crickets tasted just like sunflower seeds.
People
This is the most people I’ve met at a single time, my thirty-two other squad mates and my squad leaders, my squad mentor, and all of the staff at Adventures In Missions. As soon as I met everyone (which was really weird), they all felt like family, like I had known them for a long time and was having a reunion. This is my new family, the people I will go to when I am struggling with life. This is my FAMILY
Thank you so much for reading this! I’m a terrible writer so this took me a while to complete but I have finally finished it.
