So one of the things you’re wondering (especially if you’ve known me for a while) is, Why in the world would you want to leave the US for 11 months and live in different countries where you’re not going to have basic amenities at your disposal? Well the entire story is quite long and if you’re in NYC, I’d love to sit down for coffee or dinner and talk about it, but for the sake of this post I’ll keep it short. I’ve always wanted to travel and a few months back I was talking with a friend who’d gone on the World Race before, I had asked him for some general life advice because I was going through another one of my rough patches and he said to me “I think you should check out the World Race”. I didn’t ask what it entailed, I just went home and looked it up. As soon as I saw what I’d be doing I wanted to leave right away, just quit my job and go. It just so happened that a few days later I was let go from my job of four years. My identity was in a salesman of fine men’s shaving products Or so I thought. I took the next two months to figure out what I’m really supposed to be doing. First, signing up for the World Race to share what God has done in my life and how He desired to do a new thing in the lives of others. Second, I’m called to minister to others. Right now that’s serving on our ops team at church, setting up and breaking down the church every Sunday. While I’m away, it could mean a construction project, teaching English, or just loving on people who thought the rest of the world has forgotten them. I am called to teach and serve. Love widows and orphans. Help the poor and be generous because I’ve been given something that I can’t pay back. So how can you help? First and foremost, prayers and just moral support. Secondly, if you can, I’d love if you think about supporting me financially. Every dollar counts, I mean it! I need to raise $15,500 and honestly that’s not a lot of money when you think about it. you can make a one time donation or a monthly contribution. however you decide to support me it’ll mean the world To me.
