After 12 years of school and many long hours of homework and lectures that were intended to prepare me for college and the American workforce, I have decided to do something a bit different from what the average teen girl will be doing after graduation. But, (surprise!) I’m not your average teen girl 🙂 As many of you already know, I will be leaving in September for a 9-month mission trip in which my team and I will travel to Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, and Swaziland. We will be working as the hands and feet of Jesus doing all sorts of things like teaching English, doing manual labor, and spreading the Lord’s word!!! I am beyond excited (and slightly terrified) for this incredible experience and I hope that you will follow me along on this blog as I continue to document my journey.
Many of my friends and family have been generous enough to donate to my past mission trips to The Bahamas, Nicaragua, and Ethiopia. I have been so blessed to be able to travel the world, and I absolutely could not have done it without their love and support. I am eternally grateful to them as my past mission trips have set my heart on fire for Jesus and are the reason why I’ve decided to dedicate 9 months of my life to serving with World Race. I deeply believe that this was God’s plan for my life since the beginning of time, and I’m so excited to learn more about who I am through Him. Please pray for me and my team as we continue to grow and prepare for this trip!
I would greatly appreciate ANY donation that you would like to make to my trip. THANK YOU for loving and supporting me. Again, I could not do any of this without the spiritual and financial support of my dear friends and family. I am so ready to embark on this crazy and beautiful adventure!!!!
“Te Doy Gloria” is a song that my friends and I chanted at the top of our lungs many times while serving in Nicaragua. It translates to “I give you glory,” and my deepest intentions for this trip are to glorify God through all of my actions and preparations. I am so so excited!!!!
Love, Lucy
