Hi,
My name is Lucretia Jojola and I want to tell you little bit about myself! I’ve lived all my life in Colorado and I love the snow we get! It is beautiful to look out and see the tress glistening with snow. When the snow blankets the mountains I can’t help but grab my skis and hit the slopes! I have to admit though it is also quite nice to sit inside curled up next to a fire and watch a movie with my friends.
Growing up I attended public schools up until high school, where I attended a Christian school. There I found a great mentor who introduced me to a wonderful group of people who I can now call my family. My mentor pushed me and encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone and join a sport. I never would have thought that cross-country would make me both physically stronger and more self-reliant and disciplined. In cross-country I discovered something that I will carry with me throughout my life: how to endure and cope with unexpected bumps in the road and how to triumph over a tough course.
For the last two years I have been attending college – first at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley and then at Front Range Community College and I’m majoring in Early Childhood Education. During my first two years in college I have been torn between furthering my education and doing something meaningful to help others in need. Although I enjoy college very much, I want to do more by working directly with young children and positively impacting others’ lives. The idea for going on a mission trip remained in the back for my mind for sometime. Now I have been giving a wonderful opportunity to go on a mission trip for nine months!
God Bless,
Lucretia
