No matter where I am, who I am with, or what I’m doing, Christmas will always be my absolute favorite time of the year!! This Christmas was definitely one to remember!
For starters me and my team were all snug in our beds Christmas Eve reminiscing about our day at 12:00am when we heard a knock…who could it be?? We were then told by our team leader get dressed quickly and come down stairs. Of course all of our mind thought something bad happened..who would come to our house at 12:00am??? Our host came and surprised us! He wanted to be the first one to wish us a Merry Christmas in Malaysia! He also got us Christmas presents!! How sweet is that! That was much more then I was ever expecting, I was nothing but happy in that moment. On top of that, we woke up that morning to a mini Christmas tree that was decorated there were also stockings and breakfast too! It was just like being at home, the only different was I was with my new family here in Malaysia!
Such a good start to Christmas morning, the day was just starting what more could I dream of? Our host invited us to his house to spend Christmas with him and his family!! They welcomed us in as their own family and made me feel so loved! We all sat around their house laughing, sharing our favorite part about the holidays, we also shared our favorite moments since being here in Malaysia! They served us two traditional Indian meals, I never thought I would ever be full but the day finally came! The food was soo good I had at least thirds of each meal! All of us were full and very tired so we decided it was time to head home. On our way home our host told us we were missing tea but since we were missing tea he pulled over and bought us all ice cream to end the day off right!!
We all came home and some took naps, other didn’t. Later on we walked into town to end our Christmas by talking to our family and friends! It’s crazy to me that even though we were ending our Christmas, they were all starting there! There’s nothing like being the first one to wish all your family and friends a Merry Christmas around the world! Being in Malaysia I thought we weren’t going to talk about Christmas nor did I think we were going to celebate it. Being away for the holidays has really been a blessing, for the first time in a long time it wasn’t about the presents, the plans, or the parties but this year I truly understand the real meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it! It truly was the most wonderful time of the year for me! I wouldn’t change it for anything!
It was nice having a little bit of home with me with the Christmas tree, stocking and having breakfast all set up! No matter where I’m or who I’m with or what I’m doing. Christmas will always be the best time of the year but more then that, the real meaning of Christmas will always be the number one place in my heart. Merry Christmas and happy new year!
