I could not be more grateful for the love and support expressed by my friends, family, and community. You guys made my new-found dream a reality.
I’m beyond stoked to experience what the World Race still has for me, and I CANNOT WAIT to pour out to my community when I get back. Get ready friends, revival is coming! (Chills)
With that being said, I’d love to share more about my trip going forward. What do you guys like to see and read: descriptions of our ministry, personal lessons and revelations, learn about our hosts, fun adventure day activities, etc? The goal is to do better about sharing all of this information with you guys, but especially during months without consistent WiFi, it’s difficult to post consistently. So shoot me a message on social media or in the comments below with your thoughts.
So my squad has been in Costa Rica for about five weeks, and we will be here for about three more. We are staying at Fundacion Resplandecer, a missionary school in the middle of the jungle. It has been quite an experience so far, lol. We’ve seen snakes (big ones), SCORPIONS, monkeys, termites (EVERYWHERE), toucans, macaws, alligators, sloths, iguanas, and dolphins and sting rays when we went surfing at the beach. Our day-to-day ministry has been mostly manual labor renovating the school. We’ve mixed and poured concrete, demolished a termite infested shed, and even helped build the foundation for another school!
The work has been hard, but worth it. I’ve truly loved serving here!
One final update! Last week, my squad underwent team changes, so no more Team Dark Roast (ruff). Our three teams merged into two, survival-style. No seriously, we actually did it like the tribe swap on survival. It was loads of fun, even though it felt quite somber at times.
Now you may be wondering, what team am I on? Well, here’s the thing, I’m not exactly on a “team”. I was raised up to squad leader along with my squad-mate, Zim. So the rest of my race might be a bit different from the first half, but I couldn’t be more excited for everything God will teach me through this!
