So. Day one in Dominican Republic. IT
hasn’t quite it because I haven’t slept all night. So I am at about 30 hours
straight and it’s starting to take it’s toll! Lol but it is great! IT isn’t as
hot as I thought it would be but it is still hot. We are in a little compound
type thing all gated in and somewhat secure so that is nice. This is our
“training” week. They will be filling us in on like schedules and such. We are
living on $5 a day for food. So it will be different but we will be fine. Just
not getting the meals we are used to. We can’t go out alone or at night. Women
are recommended to have a man with them if they leave. It’s definitely a
different world. It will be great to get things rolling and get into a mode and
know what we are doing and get that feel for it.
Also as I posted on my FB, the route has
changed. Countries still the same, just in a different order. Still here in DR
and Haiti, then Ireland. But instead of Asia next then Africa, then Europe, we
are reversing that. So it will be somewhat different but not really. Doesn’t
matter too much to me.
So this is my first blog out on The World
Race. It’s short and sweet but it will get better….I hope! So here is a quick pic of the place we are at.
Not the best, but it’s better than nothing! Well we have to get this on a
flashdrive and get to the internet
café! Love you all!
Whats crazy here is that we JUST had one of our female squad mates get their video camera stolen in broad daylight, with people and it was even strapped to her wrist. He was on a moped and just snatched it. So many extra prayers for the safety of our stuff and us.
