So we are now a week away from leaving the DR. We have had
some amazing times and met some amazing people. It is bittersweet leaving. We
have been able to pour into the kids that are in the neighborhood around our
church. We have grown into what they need more and more each day. We have been
face painting and playing baseball the past few days. They love that so much.
So here comes a story for you….I hope you aren’t wearing socks….cause it’s
going to blow them off.
So the
other day, I believe it was Wednesday, Christy, Jeremy, Silvia and myself went
out to street evangelize. Or street Jesus as I call it. So we are walking
around and nothing is coming to us. So our translator for the day, who is
awesome, says we should stop and pray and see what God has for us. So we stop
and do our thing there on the street. So we come together and Jeremy says he
got the vision of an older man that needs to be healed and he asks God where he
is and God says that someone in the group knows where he is. So Christy says
she got the same thing as Jeremy and that she also got a soldier. And I got a
crown which I thought that is was for us to take our crowns that God has given
us and take that power he has given us. So we start to walk and as we are
walking we speak over ourselves that we are being the Kingdom right now. When
Jesus came to Earth, people came for miles and miles and even lowered people
through holes in roofs. And since we have Jesus in us and allow it to shine,
people will come to us. So still nothing for a few more minutes and then
Christy mentions a cemetery that is near that she had flash in her mind a
couple times. So we head over there and see some guys sitting all around. So we
go to the entrance and sit down and no more than one minute a guy approaches
Silvia asking if we could get him a BIBLE! His name is Victor Reyes. Reyes is
King in Spanish and his name is like Victorious King!! Hello! Crown and coming
to us?? So we chat with him and find out that he has some problems that we can
pray healing over. So we do and as he is walking away, Jeremy says he thinks
that he knows where there is someone else that needs healing. So Silvia asks
him and he immediately says there is a guy down the road that needs some
healing. So we set a time to meet him on Friday and head to the other place.
So we
arrive there and we walk in and are immediately greeted and provided 4 chairs
for us to sit down. This isn’t a house. It’s a pseudo-yard. It is just where a
few small shacks come together and they cook and whatnot out there. We begin to
talk and the eldest gentleman, Antonio, apologizes that he is drunk and he has
a problem. He also goes on to say that he is afraid that if he doesn’t come to
know Jesus that when the final days come, he will be left behind and have no
eternal life. So if you aren’t following along nicely, we just followed all of
God’s signs and now have a man in front of us that wants and needs to know his
son. Can you say sweet? So Jeremy is looks at us and is like “I’m about to blow
his mind..”. So we proceed to tell him that we are the Kingdom of God and we
were led to him by God to give him that eternal life he wants. So we talk to
him and share some scripture like my new (John 3:35-38) Jesus said “ I am the
bread of life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no
more, ever. I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen
me in action, you don’t really believe me. Every person the Father gives me,
eventually comes running to me. And once that person is with me, I hold on and
don’t let go. I came down from heaven not to follow my own whim but to
accomplish the will of the One who sent me.” Look familiar??
So we tell him a few more about being children of God and
being called to be so much more. So we pray over him and as we are praying a
wind so strong blows over us and nearly knocks us over. And when Jeremy was
praying and proclaiming that he was no longer a slave to sin but a slave to
righteousness a pig went CRAZY across the street. A demon was being cast out
from this man. One that had been with him a long time. And after we prayed
Christy wanted him to proclaim that he was free in Christ. Free INDEED! And he
did a couple times normal then the 3rd he yelled it and another pig
went nuts across the street. Not just like normal. Like something was killing
it or something awful. It was yet another demon being driven out by Antonio
speaking his freedom over himself!! So we had him come to church Friday evening
and his whole family too. It was a great night! We didn’t have an empty seat in
the church. God has been blessing that place and I love it!
So to
re-cap, God gave us visions, we let his light shine and the faith of another
man brought him to speak to us for a bible. Then our faith to pursue more led
us to another man who needed spiritual healing. I mean talk about your
praises!! It is such an experience when you get to see the fruits of God come
about. I mean we have been growing closer daily and learning to listen and
follow what he has for us. We did and saved a soul for eternity.
Then
the next night we had some AWESOME worship in the house. We come together and
just worship with all we have. God is awesome! God is doing marvelous things in this group
