Praise God! My headaches are gone! It’s been a week now, and they haven’t returned. I’m so thankful. I know God heard my prayers and your prayers, and he took the pain away. There’s really no other explanation. God proved faithful to our waiting on him. I think my team and I are understanding more that we can’t put God in a box, even when we want him to do something amazing for his glory. It still is up to his perfect timing, and who are we to judge that. I’m glad God taught us this lesson early on in the race. I know it will continue to be something that challenges us.
When we are tested by the tough questions, like why do bad things happen to good people, why does God heal some people but not others, and why do disasters like the earthquake in Haiti happen, we can only answer by saying, “God is sovereign.” We can’t even begin to understand him. It says in Isaiah (55:8), “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,'” declares the Lord. Also, “His understanding no one can fathom” (40:28). The minute we think we’ve got God figured out, he’ll throw a curve ball and we’ll be back at square one.

My teammate Tash gave us this illustration one night that I really liked. She said our walk with God is like climbing a mountain. It’s often difficult and hard, and many times we want to quit and turn around. But if we keep going and reach the top, we will be amazed and blessed by the beautiful view.
We can’t always see the top of the mountain, but God can, and he knows the perfect time when we need to reach the summit. There will always be more mountains, but we can always know God is with us each step of the way.
Thank you again for your many prayers on my behalf. Let’s praise God together and give him the glory!
