“Fields of the Fatherless” by Tom Davis. It was so appropriate
for me to read at this time, since my team is ministering to the
fatherless orphans here in Manila. The book talks about how God calls
us to minister to the widows, orphans and aliens.

of them either don’t have a father, don’t know their father or were
abused by their father. I know very little of their stories, but I
know God
is calling us to love them. love these kids for a month and then to leave them like everyone else
in their life has done. I hate that we will have to do that, but at
least for a time, we can bring them joy and a feeling of belonging.

father and mother of their own. It would be great to see them leave
the confines of the fatherless to the comforts of a family. Sadly,
statistics show the chance of a child older than 5 being adopted goes
down dramatically, and most of these children are older than 5. So, I
don’t know what God has planned for them, but for right now they are
being fed, educated, loved and taught that God is their father. I
know they will not be forgotten, even if they never find a family of
their own, the ministry here will somehow provide for them or help
them make it in the world. We are fulfilling the call God gave us to
love the fatherless. I pray you will do that in your community too.
