Operation Khatmandu-It (or like I call it, CanManDo-It???)
Tomorrow morning after breakfast, a group of 12 of us are going on a journey to spread the Gospel to villages of people whom have never heard of Jesus. This group consists of World Racer’s, pastors, ministry leaders, and family. We are going on an 11-day backpacking trip through the Himalaya’s!!!! I am so nervous about the cold weather and the physical demand on my body. Hence, why I joke that this is Operation "Can Man Do It??" Don't misunderstand me. I want to go. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. We will be introducing Jesus to indigenous people of Nepal. How many times in my life will I be able to be the person who first told someone about Jesus?? And heck, how many other people do I know can say they trekked through the Himalaya's for Thanksgiving?? This is the kind of adventure many people seek out, and now I'm getting to do it!
Of course, I am nervous because I know that this is going to probably be one of the hardest things I do my entire life. We will be hiking through all kinds of weather, potentially rain, snow, and/or sleet. I'm not sure how many hours we will be walking each day, but from what I've been told, a typical day would consist of walking for 3 hours, resting for a few hours, and then walking another 5 hours …. and repeat! Not to mention the spiritual warfare we're going to be facing. We are literally attempting to spread Christianity into areas of Nepal that are populated with people who not only haven't ever heard of Jesus but haven't even seen white people before. We can only expect to be under attack.
So let me break this down to you, without all my rambling commentary. Here is what we will be doing and what we need from YOU!
We are going to be walking from village to village, setting up film equipment, and showing a film about Jesus to people who have never heard Jesus’ name. While some of us go and share the gospel, some of us will stay behind and pray for the hearts and minds of the village people in hopes that they accept it well. We are literally going to be saving souls on this journey, and I am so excited to be a part of it!
Now here is what we need from all of you back home …. PRAYER!
Pray that while we have no internet and no way to further our support raising
before our December 1st deadline, that my account and my team members accounts will be filled.
Pray that we have a safe hedge of protection around us throughout our entire journey.
Pray that we have angels surrounding us diverting any attacks from the enemy.
Pray that we will be provided with a supernatural strength to get us through these mountains.
Pray that we are literally the hands and the feet of Jesus, doing exactly what He asks of us.
Pray hard. Pray longer than you have ever prayed before that the people in these villages will open their eyes and see truth and light!
Pray that God will perform miracles of healing on this journey.
Pray that God will send us visions and dreams and words to speak life into each other and prophesy over the people will encounter.
