While in the Philippines our main goal is to bring food to the impoverished parts of city. This particular site is next to a trash dump. It’s honestly one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life. When you see so much hurt in one place but know there’s not much you can do, it’s something you can’t shake quickly from your head. How do you go about flipping this place around when you only have a month there? Maybe this is just the place the Lord will call me back to.

A typical nesting spot that the people at the feedings live in. Mostly made up from things found in the trash dump.

This is what almost every block looks like near the feeding spot. Once they have cleared most of the ruble, more people move in.

Your typical heartbreaker. Her names Kaila and her favorite thing to do is strain my neck! However bringing just a little bit of light to her day was so worth the heat, the stench and the pain of knowing that I can’t save her from this mess. I hope one day she is able to leave this place and find a way to provide for herself.

This is where the actual feeding spot is where we call for everyone to grab there bowls and plates so we can share some porridge. The food goes quick but the bellies are full for at least one meal.
Hearing about this stuff in America and just thinking that other people will take care of it is something that I definitely don’t want to do anymore. I take it as a blessing from God to be able to be his hands and feet in such a hard hitting ministry spot.
