Thailand!!!!!!! Before I explain the title of my blog I would love to tell you about some of my experiences in Thailand. First of all the people that I have encountered are sooooo nice and making friends with the people I meet has been my favorite part of living in Thailand. I have had Korean music (K-POP) dance parties at the mall, many talks with monks at the nearby Buddhist temple, sang Taylor Swift with the Thai employees at the hostel we are staying at, made friends with a pastor who plays violin at the night market down the street and even had a chance to go to his church service.

One of the things that I love about Chiang Mai, Thailand is how beautiful it is because of the surrounding mountains, the tropical plants and the BRIGHT blue skies with clouds. It’s the rainy season right now and that means that sometimes there will be a rainstorm as you’re leaving from ministry and you have to take refuge with monks under a tent or risk walking through streets filled with knee-deep water to get home (P.S. either way you will get wet).

Fun fact: Sometimes I get really proud of the fact that I am getting better at eating spicy food but then the Thai spice gods send me a spicier dish that burns off my taste buds and makes me cry, so I will work even harder to be humble.

What ministry has looked like for my team this past month…MaNuAl LaBoR… This month my team of seven guys were stationed at the Hostel we are staying at. We got to help with some renovations around the hostel like, sanding/refinishing chairs, painting, designing a rooftop lounge area, building some furniture, and in general making the hostel a place where future missionaries can rest. My team and I also had many evangelizing opportunities that ranged from talking to college volleyball players to visiting clothing tailors and giving out bibles. On fridays we went to an organization that takes care of children with HIV/AIDS. We also sanded chairs for them and in the afternoons had the chance to love on and play with the children. I had a ton of fun playing with kids and there was one baby in particular named Eesara who I loved to hang out and take naps with.

As I have gone along this journey the Lord has showing me a lot about His love for others and how I can go to Him to be filled up when I feel empty. I’ve also been learning about what healthy Christian community looks like and how to apply it. God also recently encouraged me to make sure I know how important worship is to Him.

So…the reason behind my lack of blogs has to do with the numbness I have been dealing with since I launched on the world race. It has been one of my biggest struggles so far and I’ve been relying on the Lord and His plan to get me through. I believe that the Lord listened to the prayers over me of a painless transition and is helping me to work through everything that I encounter. So, instead of using numbness as an excuse to why I haven’t posted a blog I will count it as a blessing because it makes the things the Lord has shown me so much more powerful.
